Shooters have only until 27 August to make submissions to the Home Affairs Select Committee inquiry into firearms control. I would encourage every shooter to make a submission to the committee. A guide to how to do it is available at the BASC website

 I see from a news item on ShootingUK that Keith Vaz  MP has been appointed Chair of  the Select Committee into Firearms Control. This is the same Keith Vaz  that on the same day tabled an Early Day Motion  urging the Government to review  the granting of Shotgun Certificates to under 18 year olds.. No preconceived opinions there then! If he feels strongly on the subject, is he really the right  man to Chair what should be an impartial and reasoned inquiry?
